Davide Di Poce Represents Italy at the 2026 SOCCA World Cup in Essen

ESSEN, GERMANY — Davide Franco Di Poce represented Italy at the 2026 SOCCA World Cup in Essen, bringing another international chapter to Waza’s wider football community. Italy’s official tournament roster lists Di Poce as number 21, a defender.

The World Cup took place August 28–September 6 at Kennedyplatz in Essen. Italy competed in Group G, facing Peru, Afghanistan and Croatia in the six-a-side international tournament.

From community football to the world stage

Di Poce is also part of Waza’s community football story in Detroit. He was among the contributors to Pulaski School’s April 6, 2026 Street to School event for the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. That work connects football with schools, participation and opportunities for young people.

His place in Italy’s World Cup squad adds an international dimension to that connection: experience gained through the game can help inspire the next generation at home.
